Hello, my name is Nate Burress. I am/was a senior this year at Union County High School. Throughout my high school experience as an artist I have attempted various mediums of art including pottery, paper, pencil, pen, glass, and even jewelry. However, the first time I molded a slab of clay into a figure I was hooked. I enjoy creating artwork out of clay and it has become my favorite medium. When I create art, I turn to nature for my inspiration, the sheer beauty of the natural elements of the world that surrounds us is something that I cannot begin to explain or fathom myself. However, nature isn't perfect and that is why I try to create my artwork with surreal elements to allow the observer to question, alluding them to ask questions. Sparking curiosity around me is something I always try to do, and you can see it within my art.
